Femicide: (noun) The intentional murder of women because they are women.
The Taliban: Recently issued a law that women’s voices cannot be heard outside the home. "Even when an adult female prays and another female passes by, she must not pray loudly enough for them to hear.”
From the BBC: Since 2021, Afghan women and girls have been stripped of their basic rights. With a ban on education, work and jobs and now stepping and speaking out in public, Afghan women face a day-to-day life, fearing the cease of their existence.
From the Guardian: Women or girls who fail to comply can be detained and punished in a manner deemed appropriate by Taliban officials charged with upholding the new laws.
