The indictment is coming! The indictment is coming!
Donald Trump is supposed to be indicted today (Tuesday) or sometime this week on charges involving hush money paid in 2016 to a porn star with whom he allegedly had an affair years earlier. If he is indicted, Trump would have to leave his Florida home and go to the district attorney’s office in downtown New York, where he would be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken. If charged and convicted of what amounts to a misdemeanor for falsifying business records, Trump faces up to a $1,000 fine and a year in jail.
It’s not hard to see that these charges are small potatoes. Some experts even question the need to pursue charges by the Manhattan DA. Nevertheless, the impending event will elicit strong emotions in a lot of people.
For some, there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

For others, there will be utter glee.

For the rest of the country, the majority of the country, the desire to move forward without being sucked into the pro-Trump-anti-Trump cyclone will be difficult. It can be done, though. Restraint will be key; don’t turn on cable news; no scrolling on Twitter; walk away from potentially fiery conversations with family and coworkers.
We can expect a lot of media hype if Trump gets fingerprinted this week. Most eyes will be on Trump himself, but also on his supporters who might protest outside of Trump Tower or the Manhattan DA’s office. Naturally, a keen eye will be focused on a possible repeat of what happened on Jan. 6, 2021 outside the U.S. Capitol. On the flip side, conservative pundits and Trump supporters will be on the lookout for Antifa-like rallies and any kind of violence that may or may not erupt.
But what if everyone stayed home? What if everyone, no matter whose side they were on, didn’t get riled up about Trump’s indictment? Wouldn’t that be a welcome relief? Trump is still being investigated for other crimes that are more severe than paying off a stripper and lying about it. Plenty of time remains to voice your concerns.
For now, though, what’s happening in Manhattan feels like theater on the small stage. This off-off-off Broadway production tries too hard to grab the emotions of viewers whose time could be better spent elsewhere. Mind this review: Avoid this production at all costs.
I agree let's do nothing .
WTAM reported this morning there were protesters outside the courthouse. But they weren't Trump supporters, they were pro prosecution protesters chanting something about no one being above the law. Except in this case there is dubious claims of Trump breaking any law, and Michael Cohen probably committing more perjury.
