โ2000 Mulesโ Filmmaker Apologizes to Man Wrongly Accused of Illegal Actions
Conservative commentator and filmmaker Dinesh DโSouza apologized for a false claim in โ2,000 Mules,โ his documentary that alleged rampant voter fraud in the 2020 election affected the outcome. In the film, DโSouza accused a Georgia man of illegally dropping ballots into an election box as part of a widespread effort to tip the scales in favor of Joe Biden.
The man, Mark Andrews, is shown in the film putting ballots into the box while DโSouzaโs voice booms, โWhat you are seeing is a crime. These are fraudulent votes.โ
It turns out that Andrews was legally dropping off his familyโs ballots.
Andrews was not mentioned in the film, but he and his family claim to have received death threats after its release. Andrews filed lawsuits against DโSouza and the movieโs distributor, Salem Media, which issued an apology to Andrews in May. Now DโSouza has released his mea culpa on his website.
โI owe this individual, Mark Andrews, an apology,โ DโSouza wrote. โWhile I do not believe Mr. Andrews was ever identified by the film or book, I am sorry for any harm he believes he and his family has suffered as a result of โ2000 Mules.โโ
Conservative pundit Ann Coulter fumed on X following the revelation. "Please think back to all the people who told you to watch Dinesh's '2000 Mules,' and NEVER TRUST THEM AGAIN," she posted. She also shared a link to her 2022 newsletter in which she shot down the information in โ2000 Mules.โ
โIn all five battleground states D'Souza considers, it is perfectly legal for third parties to drop off ballots for others, with varying degrees of leniency,โ she wrote.
Venezuelan Migrant Arrested for Sex Trafficking in El Paso
Estefania Primera, a Venezuelan migrant, was arrested earlier this fall on suspicion of drugging and selling a woman for sex at an El Paso hotel. Primera, known as La Barbie, is believed to be a member of Tren de Aragua, a violent Venezuelan gang. Although the hotel where Primera is alleged to have committed sex trafficking is not named, it is believed to be the Gateway Hotel in downtown El Paso. The hotel is said to be a hangout for members of Tren de Aragua.
In a statement given to police, a woman says she was drugged and forced into prostitution by Primera. At one point during the ordeal, the woman managed to escape her hotel room and show the manager of the hotel her injuries, which she said were consistent with having been raped. The woman claims the hotel manager dismissed her injuries, saying they were probably caused by her husband. Eventually, Border Patrol agents learned of the womanโs situation and had her share her story with police. Primera was arrested on September 27.
Primera entered the United States illegally but was released by authorities. At some point after settling in El Paso, Primera became the self-appointed leader of a sex trafficking ring. According to Border Patrol, she used her own children as drug mules.
Israeli-American Believed to Be a Hostage Instead Died on Oct. 7
The family of Omer Neutra believed the 21-year-old American-Israeli soldier had been captured by Hamas during the brutal October 7, 2023 attack on Israel. For more than a year, they held out hope that he would safely be released. Now theyโve learned that Neutra was killed during the attack and his body was taken into Gaza. Israelโs ministry shared the news but did not say how they learned of Neutraโs death.
Neutra, 21, emigrated from the United States and became a tank platoon commander with the Israeli army. He was posthumously promoted to the rank of captain.
Back in his hometown on Long Island, Neutraโs immediate family held a tearful press conference after learning of his death. โWe envisioned images of our reunion focusing on doing, on our fight for your release, and for some clarity in the face of the unknown,โ his mother, Orna, said. โAnd now things are clear, but not as we hoped, and your void a big hole in my stomach. But we are not alone.โ
Children in NYC Migrant Shelters Being Recruited by Venezuelan Gangs
The New York Police Department issued a warning about members of a Venezuelan gang looking to recruit migrant children. According to the NYPD, members of the Tren de Aragua gang have likely blended in with asylum seekers in the community. There, they recruit children as young as 11 to commit crimes such as stealing jewelry and cellphones at gunpoint or knifepoint. If a young criminal is caught, they are usually released back into the community because they have no previous records. Then they are likely to commit more crimes. Migrants in New York who are aware of the situation often donโt report incidents because they fear being deported or getting into trouble with the law, authorities say.
PSA: Help the Victims of Hurricane Helene
Two months after flooding devastated parts of western North Carolina, many residents continue to struggle. As winter bears down on the area, people are living in tents and shelters. Residents rely heavily on the kindness of volunteer organizations in the area and around the country.
If you would like to help, consider making a monetary donation to an organization that is on the ground and providing immediate relief. One such organization is Valley Strong Disaster Relief. This group formed immediately after Hurricane Helene and has continued to broaden its reach in the community. You can make a monetary donation or use their Amazon wish list to purchase food, diapers, cleaning supplies and other desperately needed items.
Another worthy organization is Emergency RV, which is donating RVs to people who have lost their homes. You can make monetary gifts or find out about donating your used RV here.
